Dog Obedience Class

At Flushing Animal Hospital it is very important to us that your pet be an enjoyable and well balanced member of your family. We believe that obedience training is an important aspect of any dog's life. To help you in your training efforts, we offer several types of obedience classes: Adult Beginners Classes, Intermediate Classes, and Advanced/Therapy Classes. These classes are 8 weeks long.

We no longer wil be be offering a specific puppy class and will be merging our puppy class into our beginner classes, which wil be held on Mondays & Wednesdays. We are sorry for any inconvenience.

Adult Beginner Class: $100 for 8 weeks:
For dogs 3 months of age and over, we offer our Adult Beginners Class. There is no age restriction on this class and seniors are welcome as well! In this class Joyce will be teaching the beginnings of sit, stay, heal, leash breaking, come on command, some retrieving, and socializing. Socializing is a very important aspect of training. It helps them get used to new people, new pets, and new places and by doing so they will be less fearful which leads to less aggression down the road. Have question about class? • A Squeaky Dog Toy
• A Bowl of Water with a Lid (For break time)
• A Chain Choker Collar
• A 6 Foot Nylon or Leather Leash (No retractable leashes)
• A Copy of a Vaccine Certificate (See "Requirements & Schedule" for more information)
 

Beginner Intermediate Class: $100 for 8 weeks:

For further training after completion of beginners class, Intermediate class will help to maintain and further your furry friends acceptance and awareness of how to merge obedience with the not so obedient world around them. In this class, Joyce dives deeper into the commands she began teaching them in the beginners class along with adding a few new commands. These include off-leash healing, off-leash retrieving, jumping hurdles, and several others.

• A 6 Foot Nylon or Leather Leash (No retractable leashes)

Advanced/Therapy Dog Class: $100 for 8 weeks:

After your pet has graduated from Intermediate Class, they may move on to Advaned/Therapy Dog Class. For more information please contact Joyce.

Private Lessons: Meet with Joyce for pricing
We offer private lessons for those dogs who need more of a one on one session, either because they are not social with other dogs, or because they need to focus on specific problems. Private Lessons can be arranged around your schedule, just let us know when's good for you!
